Non-Public School Transportation Requests Due by April 1

The deadline for Huntington School District residents to request transportation of their child to a non-public school during the 2026/27 school year is April 1. Late requests will not be honored nor will any request that seeks a change in transportation after April 1 that results in additional cost to the district, even if there is a change in schools.

Blue Devils Pin Way Past Newfield in League Opener, 53-22

The Huntington wrestling team won 10 of 14 individual matches to topple visiting Newfield in the league opener for both teams last Friday afternoon, 53-22. The following day, a contingent of Blue Devils who had missed one of the first two tournaments this winter traveled to Putnam Valley for a tournament that produced as many as six matches for some wrestlers.

The first day of public education in Huntington was more than 368 years ago. A few years after the town was settled a group of community members came together to hire Jonas Holdsworth as the first school teacher in Huntington. Given a four year contract, he commenced class on February 11, 1657 in a private home. Huntington UFSD traces its origins to that day.
