A Rewarding Experience for Everyone
Every Saturday at the Huntington Public Library’s branch in Huntington Station, students come together to mentor and learn. Led by Woodhull Intermediate School teacher and Huntington alum Allison Von Vange, what started as three fifth graders and one high school helper has now blossomed into a group of 16 eager elementary and intermediate grade level youngsters mentored by five kind-hearted students of Huntington High School.

Woodhull Sixth Graders Advance to LEGO League Championships
Woodhull Intermediate School sixth grade dual language program students Elisabetta Arra, Dylan Goodwin, Gavin Kline, Hunter Kline, Cecilia Lee, Emily McCarthy, Elena Prior and Caitlin Wegielnik are headed to the FIRST LEGO League Challenge World Championships in Houston next month after a first place finish at the Long Island regionals at Hicksville.

Standing Ovation for Annie Jr. Actors & Stagehands
Every good performance deserves a bow and applause, but four spectacular shows over three days warrant a standing ovation and everyone associated with the combined Woodhull Intermediate School and Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School drama club got it last weekend in the Huntington High School auditorium after a memorable staging of crowd favorite Annie Jr.

Weeks of rehearsals are nearing an end as the combined Woodhull Intermediate School and Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School drama club is set to stage a production of “Annie Jr.” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Huntington High School auditorium.

J. Taylor Finley Middle School hosted parents of Woodhull Intermediate School and Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School sixth graders for an informational presentation about the programs and classes that await the group as seventh graders next fall.

Scott Oshrin Says Goodbye as Woodhull’s Principal
A familiar face around Huntington UFSD is leaving. Woodhull Intermediate School Principal Scott Oshrin will depart next week. He has been appointed as an assistant superintendent in Commack. A transition is currently underway.

Trustees Appoint Stephanie Campbell as Woodhull Principal
Huntington School Board members have appointed Stephanie L. Campbell as the new principal of Woodhull Intermediate School. The veteran educator will assume the post on December 5 when she takes over for the departing Scott Oshrin, who has been named an assistant superintendent in Commack.

Woodhull Post Card Challenge Makes Geography Fun
Allison Von Vange is always cooking up something fun for her students. The Woodhull Intermediate School fifth grade teacher’s class has recently been participating in the Post Card Challenge, striving to collect post cards from all 50 states and 195 countries around the world.

Woodhull’s Podcast Club Returns
Woodhull Intermediate School podcast club is back for a second year. Fifth and sixth graders have been working on producing the first podcast of 2022/23. The year’s first show will debut in two weeks.

Woodhull Intermediate School is a happy and nurturing place where children are encouraged to be all they can be. It has been providing youngsters in the community with an outstanding education since opening in 1967.

Woodhull Intermediate Leadership

Stephanie Campbell
Principal
Stephanie L. Campbell has been Woodhull Intermediate School’s principal since December 5, 2022.
Ms. Campbell earned an undergraduate degree at James Madison University in psychology and elementary education in May 1997 and a master’s degree at George Mason University in educational leadership in January 2005.
Prior to being named Woodhull’s principal, Ms. Campbell had been working as an elementary instructional coordinator at Ocean Avenue Elementary School in Northport since 2019. She was previously employed as at Ocean Avenue as a third grade and fifth grade teacher between 2014-2019.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Campbell worked as an alternative learning teacher at Hunters Woods Elementary School and as a third, fourth and sixth grade teacher at Waples Mill Elementary School from 1998-2005. Both schools are part of the Fairfax County public school system in Virginia.
Ms. Campbell has participated in training focused on responsive classrooms, response to intervention/multi-tiered system of support for academics, integrated co-teaching, understanding by design and guided math.
In addition to her educational pursuits, Ms. Campbell is also a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor.
