The Town of Huntington proudly celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with its 32nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration, recognizing the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic community. The event highlighted the achievements and talents of local students, including several Huntington High School students who were honored for their accomplishments and recognized for their contributions to the community.

Huntington High School students Ann Araujo and Jostin Ramirez were recognized as scholarship and proclamation recipients. Edgar Anariba, Antony Rivas, Jilson Rodriguez, and Marilyn Mendoza were also honored with certificates of recognition, celebrating their accomplishments and contributions.

The celebration featured an inspiring showcase of student talent, including the singing of the National Anthem by Caleigh Camarata and performances by Huntington High School’s Chamber Choir, under the direction of Charles Colasanti. The choir performed “Tres canciones de los elementos” by Victor C. Johnson, delighting attendees with a musical tribute that reflected the students’ dedication and artistry.

The United Amigos Club, under the direction of Marlo Romero and Kenia Guevara, also took the stage to perform a vibrant dance medley. Their performance celebrated the richness and diversity of Hispanic culture through music, movement, and tradition.

Several Huntington Union Free School District administrators joined members of the community to enjoy the celebration and support the students being recognized. Attendees included Superintendent of Schools Beth McCoy; Deputy Superintendent Christopher J. Hender; Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Brenden P. Cusack; Huntington High School Principal Rochelle Brown; Director of Fine and Performing Arts Dr. Rob Wottawa; and Huntington UFSD Board of Education President Theresa Sullivan.
