november 6, 2026

The Huntington Blue Devil marching band performed admirably at the New York State Field Band Conference championships at Syracuse. It was the band’s best showing of the season, earning a score of 82.85 as the musicians and color guard members left it all out on the field.

“The band spent the entire season working for this moment and their hard work, passion and dedication is what yielded such a high energy, stunning performance,” said Andre Rizzuto, the band’s director. “I could not be prouder of our students for an amazing 2026 season.”

The Band Parent Association of Huntington once again provided “amazing support and festive Halloween activities for the band following the competition, “and we are very thankful for their support and kindness,” Mr. Rizzuto added.

Band members are now decompressing from the pressures of the long season. “Thank you to our staff, chaperones, roadies and the Band Parent Association of Huntington for the unwavering dedication and support throughout the entire 2026 season,” Mr. Rizzuto said. Thank you to our board of education, central administration and community for their endless support and love. The planning for the 2027 season will begin shortly.”

Looking back over the multi-month season, there was much to take pride in. “We improved every performance this season and we are most proud of our children's dedication and perseverance to accomplish their goals, said Dr. Robert Wottawa, Huntington’s director of fine and performing arts. “Our marching band family, teachers and parents are an asset to our children and program, and we are very fortunate to work alongside people who care tremendously.”
