Dylan Wong Garners $5,000 Lions Club Scholarship

The Huntington Lions Club is quite optimistic that Dylan Wong is headed for an exceptional and altogether successful experience at college; during his professional career and throughout life in general.

The organization presented the sensational Huntington High School Class of 2026 member with a $5,000 scholarship award to help defray college related expenses.

“I’ve enjoyed the friends I’ve made along the way most in high school,” Mr. Wong said. “I completed an internship at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where I conducted research and presented my project at a symposium. I also presented at the Long Island Math Fair, earning a silver medal for my work. Demonstrating initiative and community involvement, I independently organized food drives that collected and donated over 4,000 food items. In addition, I contributed to a long-term study on the population of alewife fish on Long Island and assisted with the Long Island Unified Water Study.”

Mr. Wong will be studying biomedical engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. He has participated in the Blue Devil marching band and chamber orchestra, robotics, Key Club and stage crew. A member of multiple honor societies, he has participated in varsity fencing and also enjoys playing tennis.

Huntington Lions Club President John DeLorenzo was on hand to present the $5,000 scholarship to Mr. Wong at the high school’s senior academic scholarships and awards ceremony.

The mission of Lions Clubs International is “to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.”
