Huntington Robotics Spreads its Wings
January 16, 2026
Huntington High School’s robotics team is spreading its proverbial wings and asking artistic and media focused students as well as those interested in business, accounting, marketing and management to consider joining the club.
Flyers have gone up around the high school building proclaiming “Creative Minds Wanted. Help Tell Our Robotics Story.”
If you are into visual design, photography, videography or storytelling, robotics wants to hear from you. No previous experience with media or robotics is necessary.
If you want to learn how to run a business, the club would love to hear from you, too. “Grow some serious skills in accounting, marketing and management,” states a second hallway flyer. “Help run the business side of the team and get real-world experience. Learn about: Budgeting and finance, sponsorships and branding and outreach.”
Interested students should reach out to teacher and club advisor Omar Santiano in room 013 at the high school or at osantiago@hufsd.edud.
Huntington Robotics is among more than 3,500 FIRST high school robotics teams in the country. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) encourages young people to pursue careers in engineering and science by showing them how interesting and fun those fields can be.
Huntington Robotics has enjoyed much success in local, regional, state and even national competitions over the years.
