College Bound Student Night at Huntington High School

January 7, 2026

Current Huntington High School students who are thinking about continuing their education following their graduation should plan to attend College Bound Student Night next Tuesday, January 13 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

“This annual event is designed to provide families with a clear and informative overview of the college admissions process, presented by an experienced college admissions professional,” Director of School Counseling & Testing, K–12 Dr. Ricky V. Papandrea, Jr. explained.

SUNY Oswego college admission officer Kate Anderson will be the night’s guest speaker. She will make a presentation that is specifically designed to support families of current eleventh grade students, “as this is a critical year in the college planning process,” Dr. Papandrea said. “However, parents and guardians of ninth and tenth grade students are also encouraged to attend, as the information shared will help families understand important timelines, expectations, and steps that can be taken early to prepare for postsecondary planning.”

Topics will include an overview of the admissions process, what colleges look for in applicants, and how students can best position themselves for success. This is a valuable opportunity to gain insight directly from an admissions perspective and to better support your child as they plan for the future.
