Senior Grace Gordon Eyes Lafayette College

February 24, 2026

If Grace Gordon has ever had a bad day, no one is aware of it. She always seems to be happy, smiling and generous with compliments for her friends and teammates. The Huntington High School senior is one of the most popular members of the Class of 2026.

“I’m going to Lafayette College,” Ms. Gordon said. “I picked Lafayette because of its welcoming and tightknit community. I was also drawn to the challenging and strong academics that Lafayette offers, as well as the great opportunities it provides beyond college.”

The three sport varsity athlete plans on studying economics. She is interested in pursuing a career in the business world.

Lafayette recruited Ms. Gordon to play on its NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse team. Her sharp play for the Blue Devils last spring helped lift the team to Suffolk and Long Island championships. She tallied 38 goals along with a team high 24 assists while standing out at midfield and attack. Her coaches cited her “amazing vision across the field” as one of her key qualities. The teenager was named to the All-County team.

“There have been many highlights throughout my time at Huntington, one of them being when my teammates and I won the county and Long Island championships,” Ms. Gordon said. “I have loved being able to play different sports with such great groups of girls at Huntington. I have learned so much and will be able to carry it with me throughout the next four years.”

Ms. Gordon also plays on the Huntington varsity tennis and basketball teams. Her weighted academic grade average in the most recent marking period was 100. She has been named a New York State Scholar Athlete every season during high school.

“My time at Huntington as a Blue Devil has been very enjoyable and I am exciting to see what the rest of the year brings,” Ms. Gordon said.
