Huntington UFSD Celebrates Administrative Professionals Day

April 24, 2026

Huntington UFSD joined school systems all across the country this week to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day. Huntington paid tribute to its clerical workers who do so much to keep the eight school buildings functioning smoothly.

Originally called National Secretaries Day, with increased responsibilities and the rise of technology, the position is now much more administrative in nature, hence the name change.

In Huntington UFSD, these professionals are truly unsung heroes, performing a substantial amount of work behind the scenes to little or no fanfare. These employees are often the first contacts members of the public have with the district and they work hard to find answers to even the most difficult of questions.

“Our administrative professionals are the backbone of our district, bringing organization, compassion, and dedication to every school day,” Superintendent Beth McCoy said. “Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt by every student, staff member, and family we serve.”

Huntington UFSD’s corps of administrative professionals are essential to the efficient operation of every building and department. Some of those being celebrated this week are relative newcomers to the district while others have worked here for decades and even graduated from Huntington High School. A large number are district residents.
