Flower Hill Kicks Off the Year Building Community

Flower Hill Primary School is off to a wonderful start to the new school year, with students, families, and staff coming together through several community-building events.

On Friday evening, Flower Hill hosted its annual Back-to-School Block Party, bringing families together for an evening filled with fun and school spirit. Students enjoyed music and dancing with a DJ, face painting, games, pizza, snacks, and a special visit from the Halesite Fire Department. Children had the opportunity to climb aboard and explore the truck.

“It was wonderful to see so many of our families together, reconnecting with one another and celebrating the start of a new school year,” said Flower Hill Principal Cindy Siegel. “Building a strong sense of community is so important to us, and events like our Block Party help our students and families feel connected to Flower Hill from the very beginning.”

The community spirit continued Saturday morning when Flower Hill students, families, and staff participated in the Huntington Unity Day Parade. The Flower Hill group proudly walked together in the parade, joining members of the greater Huntington community for a morning focused on unity and togetherness.

“Seeing our students and families walking together and representing Flower Hill was such a special way to continue the weekend,” Siegel said. “We are looking forward to a school year filled with many more opportunities to bring our school community together.”

Flower Hill began the school year with a strong focus on connection, school spirit, and community.
