Jefferson Jaguar Leadership Team Off to a Great Start!

The Third Grade Jefferson Jaguar Leadership Team is off to a fantastic start! This year, students had the opportunity to apply to become members of the Leadership Team by sharing their ideas for how they would like to contribute to our school and local community. We were so impressed by the thoughtful ideas, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve demonstrated by our third graders.

After being selected, our student leaders attended their first Leadership Team meeting with their team leaders, Dr. Oz and Ms. Dooher. During their first meeting, students learned about the first habit of a good leader: Habit 1: Be Proactive. They discussed what it means to take initiative, make positive choices, and look for ways to make a difference rather than waiting for someone else to take the lead.

Our Jaguars quickly put this important leadership habit into action! The Leadership Team came together for its first community event by proudly participating in the Huntington Unity Parade. With their Jefferson banner held high and their Jaguar spirit on full display, our third grade leaders represented Jefferson Primary with pride and enthusiasm.

A special thank you to our Jefferson Leadership Team PTA, families, and staff who came out during the parade to support our student leaders, including Dr. Oz, Ms. Dooher, Ms. Capitulo-Saide, Mrs. Garcia, Mrs. Soto, Mr. Rodriguez, and Ms. Russell. Your encouragement and support mean so much to our students.

We are incredibly proud of our Jefferson Jaguar student leaders and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish throughout the school year. Their willingness to serve, lead, and make a positive difference in our school and community truly demonstrates The Jaguar Way!
