Admission Reps Bringing College Search to Huntington

September 16, 2026

Huntington High School students will have numerous opportunities this fall to connect directly with representatives from colleges and universities through the College & Career Center.

More than 90 college admission representative visits are scheduled between now and Thanksgiving break, giving students the opportunity to learn more about colleges, ask questions and make meaningful connections with admission professionals without having to leave the Huntington campus.

The visits are being organized by College & Career Center school counselor Bernadette Walsh, who coordinates the extensive schedule of college representatives throughout the school year. Most representatives will meet with students during the school day in the College & Career Center, Room 120. Several additional opportunities will be offered virtually after school hours.

“These visits provide our students with an important opportunity to hear directly from the people who work in college admission,” said Director of School Counseling & Testing, K–12, Dr. Ricky Papandrea “With more than 90 visits scheduled before Thanksgiving, students have an incredible variety of opportunities to explore colleges, ask questions, and better understand what each institution has to offer. Mrs. Walsh does an outstanding job coordinating these experiences and making sure our students have access to meaningful college and career resources throughout the year.”

The college representative visits are designed to complement the many college and career resources already available through the College & Career Center. Students can use these meetings to learn about academic programs, campus life, admission requirements, financial aid, student opportunities, and other aspects of the college experience directly from admission representatives.

A complete and continuously updated list of scheduled college visits is available to students through Naviance and the College & Career Center Google Classroom. As additional colleges schedule visits, they will be added to the calendar.

Students interested in attending an in-person visit must register in the College & Career Center and obtain a pass to attend the one-period meeting. Students attending virtual visits must register through their Naviance account. An access link for a virtual meeting will be provided through Naviance approximately 15 minutes before the event.

Students are also encouraged to check directly with individual colleges’ admission offices for information about additional opportunities, including virtual college fairs, information sessions, and other admission programs.

The College & Career Center’s college representative visits are one of the many ways Huntington High School helps students explore their options and prepare for life after graduation. With dozens of colleges scheduled to connect with Huntington students this fall, students have a wealth of opportunities to begin or deepen their college search at the high school.
