Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in Fifth Grade Dual Language

October 16, 2026

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Ms. Bonilla’s fifth-grade Dual Language students explored the rich history, vibrant cultures, and meaningful contributions of Hispanic countries and influential Hispanic figures from around the world.

As part of this engaging learning experience, students researched a Hispanic country or notable Hispanic individual and transformed their findings into colorful, informative projects. Each project highlighted interesting facts, important details, and meaningful symbols and images that brought their research to life.

Through this hands-on activity, students deepened their understanding of Hispanic cultures and traditions while strengthening their research skills and expanding their cultural awareness. The projects also provided an opportunity for students to recognize the diversity of Hispanic communities and celebrate the many ways Hispanic individuals and cultures have shaped our world.

This meaningful classroom experience reflects the value of embracing diverse perspectives and helping students develop a greater appreciation for the histories, traditions, and contributions that enrich our school community and the world around us.
