Huntington Boys Golf Completes Perfect 11-0 Season, Captures League 2 Championship
October 14, 2026
The Huntington High School boys varsity golf team has completed a remarkable regular season, finishing with a perfect 11-0 record and capturing the League 2 Championship. The undefeated campaign is a testament to the team's talent, dedication, and consistency throughout the fall season.
Under the direction of Head Coach Mike Marinello and Assistant Coach Bob Colvin, the Blue Devils established themselves as one of Suffolk County's top golf teams, combining outstanding individual performances with the depth and balance needed to win week after week.
Coming into the season, expectations were high for a talented and experienced Huntington squad. The Blue Devils returned several accomplished golfers, including senior captains Jack Corcoran, Brady LaCosta, and Will Donaghy, who provided leadership throughout the season.
Corcoran, who will continue his golf career at Fordham University, and Donaghy, who has committed to Stonehill College, helped lead a determined group of golfers with aspirations extending well beyond a league championship.
The Blue Devils also received important contributions from Graham Gooch, Joe Perotti, Michael Tucker, Luke Lomler, and Matt Krull. The team's depth proved to be one of its greatest strengths, as different players stepped up throughout the season to help keep Huntington's undefeated record intact.
"We came into this season knowing that we had a very talented group of golfers, but talent alone doesn't win championships," said Coach Marinello. "The boys worked hard, supported one another, and understood that every stroke mattered. Going undefeated in a competitive league is something they should be extremely proud of."
While the perfect regular season and league championship are tremendous accomplishments, the Blue Devils are far from finished. Huntington now turns its attention to the Conference 1 Tournament and Suffolk County Championships, where the team hopes to build on its success and compete for additional titles.
Captain Will Donanghy said, an undefeated season is something to celebrate, but the ultimate goal is to bring home a county championship to Huntington.
With an 11-0 record and a League 2 title already secured, Huntington has positioned itself for what could be one of the most memorable seasons in the program's history.
