Huntington High School Students Build Excitement for Homecoming 2026

Homecoming spirit is taking over Huntington High School as students prepare for an exciting weekend of Blue Devil pride, school traditions, and community celebration!

On Thursday, October 8, students gathered to decorate the high school cafeteria in anticipation of Homecoming 2026. Organized by class officers and Student Government, the event brought students from every grade together to paint windows, hang streamers, and create colorful posters that filled the building with excitement for the week ahead.

Student Government President Maddy Falk shared that the goal is to encourage even greater participation and school spirit this year. “We really want everyone in the school to be even more excited and involved in homecoming than in past years. Homecoming is so much fun and the more people who join in, the more fun it is!” she said.

The cafeteria decorating event was especially meaningful for the student leaders, who wanted to make their final Homecoming experience one to remember. “It's our last homecoming, so we really wanted to go all out,” Maddy explained.

The celebration continues with Spirit Week beginning Tuesday, leading up to a full schedule of Homecoming festivities. The districtwide bonfire will take place Thursday, October 15, at 5:30 p.m. at Huntington High School, followed by varsity field hockey and girls’ soccer games on Friday, October 16.

The excitement will culminate on Saturday, October 17, with the districtwide Homecoming Parade at 11:30 a.m., followed by the varsity football game against Newfield at 1:30 p.m.

Shuttle buses will be available between Huntington High School and Gerard Street for Saturday’s festivities. Pre-parade shuttles will depart from the high school at 10:15 and 10:45 a.m., while post-parade shuttles will depart at 12:30, 1:00, and 1:15 p.m.

Thank you to our Student Government, class officers, and all the students who are helping make Homecoming special. We look forward to welcoming students, families, alumni, and community members for a weekend filled with school spirit, Blue Devil pride, and Huntington tradition!

Go Blue Devils!
