Learning Through Touch and Exploration

October 13, 2026

Learning comes to life in Ms. Mastrantonio’s class at Washington Primary School, where students are building early literacy skills through hands-on, multisensory experiences.

As part of their “Letter of the Week” lesson, students explored tactile booklets while following along with the group lesson. Using touch, movement, and exploration, the Washington Winners strengthened their letter-learning skills while engaging with the material in a meaningful and interactive way.

These activities also provide valuable opportunities for students to develop important classroom routines and learning behaviors, including sitting, attending, listening, and participating during whole-group instruction.

It was wonderful to see our Washington Winners learning, exploring, and growing together through an engaging experience that makes learning both meaningful and fun!
