Drama Club Nominated for 11 Hunting-Tony Awards

Huntington High School drama club members have been nominated for 11 Hunting-Tony Awards for its fall and spring productions. This year’s ceremony announcing the award recipients will be held at Harborfields High School on Monday, June 8 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
The dress code for those attending the awards ceremony is formal attire; i.e. gowns and suits. Huntington drama club faculty advisor Michael Schwendemann will lead the Blue Devil contingent.
Hunting-Tony Award judges were in attendance at every high school drama club production in the town over the past year, forming the basis for the nominations and the ultimate honors in each category.
Huntington’s nominees in the drama category include:
• Best Lead Actor in a Play - Michael Di Vincenzo – “Lost Girl”
• Best Lead Actress in a Play - Lily Wasoski – “Lost Girl”
• Best Supporting Actress in a Play - Deveren Flynn – “Lost Girl”
• Best Technical Production for a Play (Lighting) – “Lost Girl”
Huntington’s nominees in the musical category include:
• Best Supporting Actor in a Musical - Walter Lopez – “Titanic”
• Best Featured Actor in a Musical - Sergio Portillo – “Titanic”
• Best Featured Actress in a Musical - Ella Triolo – “Titanic”
• Best Costumes in a Musical – “Titanic”
• Best Technical Production for a Musical (Lighting) – “Titanic”
• Best Technical Production for a Musical (Sound) – “Titanic”
• Best Stage Crew Musical – “Titanic”
Huntington High School actors have fared well in previous years. The nominees are expected to come decked out in their best. “This is their night to shine,” Mr. Schwendemann said. “Win or lose, it should be a night to remember.”
