Huntington Musicians Tapped for SCMEA Festivals
January 20, 2026
More than three dozen Huntington School District music students have been selected to participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators Association’s annual festival series.
Huntington has a tradition of sending a large delegation of top musicians to the SCMEA festival series. Students perform in one of three concerts depending upon their respective grade level.
“I am pleased to have received wonderful news due to our outstanding music teachers,” said Dr. Robert J. Wottawa II, district director of fine and performing arts. “With each of their hard work, dedication and perseverance, we had 38 students selected to participate in SCMEA’s concerts, to be held in March. This is due to the programming we have offered at Huntington and the support provided by our teachers through our performing music programs.”
