Anastasia Sarducci Captures Government Achievement Award

Anastasia Sarducci is this year’s recipient of State Senator Mario Mattera’s Government Achievement Award. The Huntington High School Class of 2026 member plans to study at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.

Huntington Principal Rochelle C. Brown presented the award to Ms. Sarducci at departmental scholarships and awards ceremony in the high school auditorium.

Senator Mario R. Mattera was first elected to represent New York State’s 2nd Senate District in November 2020 and sworn into office on January 5, 2021, according to an online profile. “He successfully won reelection in both 2022 and 2024, continuing to serve the residents of Huntington and Smithtown.”

The award included a certificate and desk plaque. Ms. Sarducci especially found her groove in the high school’s video broadcasting program. She teamed up with classmate Grayson Dunn to create an “art, Entertainment and Culture” feature package that won first place in the Broadcast Alliance for Senior High Awards contest. The package highlighted Huntington’s annual fashion show and all the work that goes into preparing for it.

Ms. Sarducci excelled academically over the past four years while dabbling in the club and athletic programs and searching out her personal and career interests.
