Pupillo & Weinschreider Win First Community Education Fund Awards

Blue Devil seniors Vincent Pupillo and Jolie Weinschreider are the inaugural recipients of the brand new Huntington Athletics Community Education Fund Scholarship Awards in the amount of $1,000 each. The two members of Huntington High School’s Class of 2026 graduated as Distinguished Seniors.

The new scholarship focuses on:

• Commitment to a sport

• Teamwork and leadership

• Strong character

• Positive influence on teammates and community

• A spirit of “showing up” and trying their hardest

The scholarship was organized by Dr. Kristen Memoli and her family, members of which were on hand to present the award at Huntington’s scholarships and awards night ceremony in the high school auditorium.

Dr. Memoli explained that the award is a scholarship supporting graduating Huntington High School seniors who have played four years of high school sports and shown what true dedication to athletics looks like. “If you believe in supporting young athletes who work hard on and off the field, your donation—big or small—makes an impact,” she said.

Mr. Pupillo played on the Blue Devil varsity football, wrestling and baseball teams. He will be attending Clemson University in South Carolina to study either business or engineering.

“The key to my success has been my ability to balance the various activities I am involvement with while playing three sports. I’ve enjoyed the following aspects of my high school career most: Being a part of many different clubs/sports that has allowed me to make a ton of new friends and meet faculty I otherwise wouldn't have met. Highlights of my extracurricular involvement include being a three-sport athlete in football, wrestling, and baseball; earning two-time All-County honors in wrestling; performing in the chamber orchestra and receiving a Gold rating for NYSSMA Majors; and membership in Math, Social Studies, Music, and National Honor Societies.”

Ms. Weinschreider is one of the finest female athletes to ever wear a uniform for Huntington. She starred on the soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams and earning awards in all three sports. She was especially important to the Blue Devil girls’ lacrosse program, helping to lead it to Suffolk, Long Island and New York State titles.

Ms. Weinschreider plans to study psychology at Rutgers University in New Jersey where she has been recruited to play on the NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse team.
