Veteran Teacher Danielle Raguzin Named Coordinator of Science

Veteran Huntington High School chemistry teacher Danielle Raguzin has been appointed to serve as the department’s coordinator, effective October 1.

Ms. Raguzin has taught Honors, Regents and Advanced Placement Chemistry and Forensic Science at the high school since September 2014. She earlier taught chemistry and physics at St. Anthony’s High School from September 2010 to June 2014.

“I have a strong work ethic with an attitude geared toward empowering students to learn to their fullest potential,” Ms. Raguzin said. “I aspire to lead as an administrator who champions every learner by lifting up struggling students while also pushing high-achievers to reach their full potential. I am assertive, compassionate, dedicated and actively interested in the progression of each student.”

A graduate of Huntington High School, where she was an All-County soccer player, Ms. Raguzin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and business administration at the University of Delaware in May 2007. She obtained a Master of Science degree in science education at Drexel University in January 2014. She holds an educational technology specialist certificate from Molloy College and completed 30 credit hours of coursework at Russell Sage College in the study of using digital tools in education.

Ms. Raguzin is currently the Blue Devils’ varsity girls’ soccer head coach. She is one of the faculty advisors for both the senior class and the school-wide student government. She has been the Science Honor Society advisor, an elementary science support teacher and an instructor at the STEM Summer Institute at Farmingdale State College.

“My leadership skills began when I was a captain and four sport athlete at Huntington High School, where I plan to remain for the entirety of my career. I pride myself on leading by example with positivity and inspiring others to be the best version of themselves.”
