Scholarships Available to Huntington High School Seniors

With costs for college tuition, room, board, books, etc. running so high, everyone is looking for some type of financial assistance, including scholarships. Huntington UFSD is doing its part to raise awareness of available scholarship opportunities.
The first edition of Huntington High School’s scholarship newsletter has been published and posted to the district website where it is available for downloading on demand. Published by the guidance department, the newsletter contains information relevant to seniors, but also includes contests that are open to all grade levels.
“We encourage you to stay in close contact with your school counselor to learn about these competitions and others to follow,” said Dr. Ricky V. Papandrea, Jr., district director of school counseling and testing K-12. “Our scholarship newsletters are available in all guidance offices, as well as online at www.hufsd.edu.”

The Equitable Foundation has established the Equitable Excellence Scholarship Program to assist high school seniors and current undergraduates who are planning to continue their education at a two- or four-year college in the United States by Fall 2026. Up to 100 renewable awards of $5,000 each will be granted. Interested students should visit https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/equitableexcellence/ for more information. The deadline is December 18
The Lorraine Pace College Scholarship sponsored by Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation is available to students who have been directly impacted by cancer and whose guardian resides outside of Huntington. For more details and to apply, interested students should fill out the application here. Students who need assistance mailing out the completed application need to contact Ms. Diana Bonilla a week before the deadline date. The deadline is April 3.
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight consecutive semesters. Interested student must visit https://haganscholarships.org/ for more information. The deadline is December 1.
The Ira Schwartz Scholarship of up to $1,000 is available to seniors who plan on attending in good standing and with at least a 3.0 average. Interested students should visit here to apply. The deadline is December 19.
Island Federal Credit Union will award five high school seniors scholarships of $5,000 each. Eligible students must be accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at the time of entry and hold an Island checking/debit card account. The Robert Keleher Private Foundation awards scholarships of up to $5,000
to students attending public high school in Suffolk and Nassau County and students attending BOCES programs. Please apply at https://www.robertkeleherfoundation.org/. The deadline is February 15.
Sallie Mae’s monthly $2,000 scholarship is available to current juniors and seniors who are 16 years old and over. Eligible students are encouraged to apply to this quick and easy scholarship every month. Students are encouraged to apply here and save the link. The deadline is November 30.
Senator Jose Peralta – New York State Dream Act gives undocumented and other students access to New York State‐administered grants and scholarships that support their higher education costs. Students can visit https://www.hesc.ny.gov/dream/ to learn more and make an account. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
