Blue Devil Superstars Commit to College Athletics
November 17, 2025
The first five Huntington High School seniors who have excelled athletically has officially committed to play their best sport for five different colleges and universities. The Blue Devils held a “signing” ceremony in Louis D. Giani Gymnasium last Thursday afternoon, which drew teammates, coaches, parents and family members and Superintendent Beth McCoy.
The five superstars have all played prominent roles for the Blue Devils. They include Valentina Puccio (Hofstra), Bridget Callery (Quinnipiac), Jolie Weinschreider (Rutgers), Grace Gordon (Lafayette) and Jack Kamenstein (SUNY Geneseo).
Coaches Christopher Taylor, Lauren Blackburn, Megan Marinelli and Julian Watts were all on hand for the ceremony, which utilized a huge Huntington Blue Devils backdrop for the photos.
As additional Class of 2026 members formalize their commitments, a second and even a third signing ceremony will be scheduled to celebrate the success of these Blue Devils.
All five seniors that were featured this past week have also excelled academically, including being named New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar Athlete Award recipients.
All five of the seniors are also multi-sport athletes for Huntington, driving home the point of coaches that athletes that play multiple sports are especially attractive to college coaches.
The seniors and most of their parents came to the ceremony decked out in the apparel of their respective college choice.
