The Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School community loves to have fun. Yes, students study hard, but having a “good time” is an essential part of every youngsters’ day.

“Halloween came late this year at STEM but that didn't affect turn out for our annual Trunk or Treat event,” Principal Donna Moro said. “Trunk or Treat at JA STEM was postponed this year due to weather but students were more than happy to put their costumes back on to come celebrate the season.”

The Jack Abrams School students learned that patience really is a virtue. So, they took the postponement in stride. In more than one way, the delay was a good thing because it allowed the youngster to get a second crack at Halloween.

“It was wonderful to see the Halloween spirit on display,” Ms. Moro said. “Students were all smiles and the parents’ creativity was on display with a wide variety of spooky trunks!”

Trunk or Treat has become an annual Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School tradition. Just what does it involve? Think Halloween tailgating. There are costumes and there’s candy. The parents (naturally with help from the kids) decorate their cars, especially the trunk using a Halloween theme. The cars line up in the parking areas. Students go from trunk to trunk. There are games along the way and food, too.
