Huntington Chamber Orchestra Notches Gold Rating
May 21, 2025
The Huntington High School Chamber Orchestra recently performed at the NYSSMA Majors at Walt Whitman and captured a gold rating for its Level 5 program.

“NYSSMA Majors is an opportunity for an ensemble to be judged and scored on their skills and abilities, across six different levels, with six being the highest,” said James DiMeglio, the orchestra’s director. “Last year, the Chamber Orchestra received a silver rating, so they have worked even harder to achieve this year's gold rating.”
The orchestra members are ecstatic about their achievement and looking forward to their spring concert in the high school auditorium.
“I couldn’t be any prouder of the students,” Mr. DiMeglio said. “They have been working incredibly hard on a difficult program and were able to pull over an amazing rating. I know that they feel the same pride and excitement over this, too.”
