Huntington jumped out to a 5-0 first period lead and went ahead 10-1 by halftime. The Blue Devils went on to outscore Half Hollow Hills in the second half, 6-2.

The team feels good heading into the regular season finale. “I think we put in a lot of work as a team to showcase all we got for this final regular season game,” Boyle said. “Connetquot is a very quick, competitive and cohesive team and we can’t wait to play them after falling short last year. Our defense and offensive units are pumped and ready to take them on.”

The Blue Devils expect a big crowd for the game. “We know how important this game is; not just for momentum, but for setting the tone heading into the playoffs,” said Ava McDonald, one of Huntington’s defensive stars. “Everyone on this team is ready to step up and do their job. Our goal is to finish the season the same way we started it; with a win.”

Huntington currently sits in second place in Suffolk Division I. The Blue Devils and Commack have identical 12-1 records, but Huntington trails in power points, 172.290-169.220. Northport (11-2), William Floyd (10-3), Connetquot (10-3), Ward Melville (9-4), Sachem North (9-4), Longwood (7-6), Patchogue-Medford (8-5) and Bay Shore (7-6) round out the Section XI Top Ten.
