Any leadership opportunity is a valuable experience. Samantha and Steven Graber were the lucky winners of the “Woodhull Principal for the Day” raffle at SEPTA’s Sunset and Sounds on the Bay fundraising event and they truly rose to the occasion.

“They began the day by helping with morning bus arrivals, ensuring students entered the building safely,” Woodhull Principal Stephanie Campbell said. “They led the morning announcements and handed out Woodhull Way tickets to classmates who demonstrated safe, respectful, and responsible behavior.”
The outgoing brother and sister duo possess many natural leadership qualities, so stepping into the role of Principal for the Day was easy.
“In the afternoon, they assisted with dismissal by tracking bus arrivals and making sure each one was released only after all students were accounted for,” Ms. Campbell said. “Samantha and Steven approached their roles with enthusiasm and responsibility, serving as wonderful role models and showing strong leadership potential.”
“Principal for the Day programs offer a unique opportunity for community leaders, parents, and students to step into the shoes of a principal and gain a deeper understanding of the daily responsibilities and challenges faced by school administrators,” according to the Education Walkthrough website. “This program can help foster stronger relationships between the school and the community and provide valuable insights for both participants and the school staff.”
