Cameron Smith in Midst of Wonderful Experience at Huntington
August 11, 2025
Cameron Smith is well on her way to leaving an indelible mark at Huntington High School, where the rising senior has assembled a great academic record along with strong performances with the Blue Devil varsity soccer and lacrosse teams. As for the future, she has her eyes on several small liberal arts colleges located in the northeast, but hasn’t made a decision yet.
“As I head into my senior year I am inclined to reflect on what a wonderful experience I have had at Huntington High School,” Ms. Smith said. “Being a student-athlete here at Huntington has been the most rewarding experience of them all. From the amazing and supportive teachers in the classroom to the active and passionate coaches on the field, I truly feel like this community is a family. I have been an athlete at Huntington High School since the eighth grade when I was pulled up to play varsity soccer and lacrosse. From the moment I arrived, the upperclassmen welcomed me warmly and treated me with genuine kindness; reflective of the character of those who walk the halls of Huntington.”
Ms. Smith is expected to be a starter and star on both the Blue Devil soccer and lacrosse teams. She played a key role for Huntington in last spring’s Long Island championship girls’ lacrosse season. The teenager is just as talented on the soccer field and figures prominently in new head coach Danielle Raguzin’s plans for the fall.
“From alumni to current students and even incoming classes, this school fosters a sense of community,: Ms. Smith said. “Though I am sad that my time here is coming to an end, I take pride in knowing that the foundation we, along with the classes before us, have built in both academics and athletics will continue to help Huntington thrive. Once a Blue Devil always a Blue Devil!”
