Blue Devil Marching Band Prepped for Summer Camp

The Huntington Blue Devil marching band is ready for its annual summer training camp, which spans two weeks and culminates in a public parent show on Sunday, August 24 at 2 p.m. on the Finley Middle School athletic field.

The first week of the camp kicks off on Monday with sessions running through Thursday from 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. The camp’s second week runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday-Friday, August 18-22 and on Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The parent show is open to the public. No tickets are required.

The 2025 drum majors are Dana Saramago, Lily Wasoski and Cole Lima. Band Director Andre Rizzuto said the 2025 production is titled “Stranded.” It features original music written by Rich Gullien and Jason Giachetti.

The field show’s featured works include Béla Viktor János Bartók’s String Quartet No. 2, “Ship in the Mist by Rossano Galante and Symphony No. 5 movement 2 by Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

“I am beyond ecstatic for the marching season this year,” Ms. Saramago said. “Everyone has been looking great thus far and this probably the strongest I have ever seen the band this early on. This season is looking like it’s going to be an absolute hit! Let’s go Huntington!”

The New York State Field Band Conference championships will be held on Sunday, October 26 in Syracuse.
