H-ton eSports Team Set for Sixth Season
September 30, 2025
Huntington High School’s electronic gaming team is set for its sixth season of action following a string of successful years.
The team plays under the umbrella of the High School eSports League, an eSports organization that sponsors competition on the local, regional and national levels.
eSports take the form of organized video game competitions. The Blue Devil club meets regularly for practices and set scrimmages with other schools. It will be competing against local high schools.
Huntington High School teachers Debora Balducci and Michael Corcoran are the team’s faculty advisors. The advisors offer feedback and suggestions during the games.
Games are played on student equipment, such as a PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch. Students and advisors communicate through the Parent Square platform.
The Blue Devils will be playing a variety of competitive esports games this season. Each of the games will present an array of challenges, but that’s exactly the way Huntington likes it.
Huntington UFSD is four-square behind the esports team and the initiative in general. The district and its officials would love to develop a championship squad.
There are already 15 team members in the fold with more expressing interest in joining. There is still time to join the Blue Devils. If interested, send a message to Ms. Balducci (dbalducci@hufsd.edu) or Mr. Corcoran (mcorcoran@husfd.edu.)
