Friday Soccer Doubleheader at Huntington’s Alumni Field

Blue Devil sports fans have a special Friday Homecoming Weekend treat with a girls’ and boys’ varsity soccer doubleheader at Alumni Field.

The Blue Devil girls’ squad will host Walt Whitman at 4 p.m. The Huntington boys’ team hosts Northport at 6:45 p.m. for a game that will conclude under the new Alumni Field lights.

The Huntington varsity girls’ team is coached by Danielle Raguzin and Vincent Tannazzo. The team is captained by Cameron Smith, Jolie Weinschreider, Ava McDonald and Madyn Kalb.

The Blue Devil girls have struggled to score this fall outside of its wins over Newfield (3-0) and Central Islip (7-0). Huntington is hopeful its offense will explode on Friday.

The Huntington boys’ varsity team is coached by John Pagano and Jason Suarez. It is captained by Jonathan Morales, Justin Soto, Rudy Villatoro and Manuel Orellano.

The Blue Devil boys are 4-4 with three of the losses by a single goal. Huntington has been beset with injuries and has rarely been at full strength this fall.

Huntington has defeated Centereach (7-0), Harborfields (3-1), Comsewogue (4-0) and Smithtown West (3-1). The Blue Devils have fallen to Half Hollow Hills East (2-1), Bellport (4-0), East Islip (1-0) and Hauppauge (1-0).

Robbie Campbell leads Huntington with five goals and five assists. Ezra Oddoye has scored four goals. Following Friday night’s game against Northport, the Blue Devil boys will have regular season games remaining with Smithtown East, West Babylon, Eastport-South Manor, East Hampton, Deer Park, Westhampton Beach and West Islip.
