Huntington Wins Again, Topping North Babylon, 40-34.
September 22, 2025
Jacob Guzik threw a pair of touchdown passes and Yasir Jones galloped for 148 yards and four touchdowns as the Huntington High School football team held off a furious close by North Babylon and won its second consecutive game, 40-34 at Blue Devil Stadium last Saturday afternoon.
Guzik completed seven-of-14 passes for 231 yards, including a pair of touchdown tosses to Jack Kamenstein, who recorded six receptions for 202 yards. Guzik also rushed six times for another 38 yards. Jones carried the ball 20 times and proved impossible to stop when he broke away wide for the end zone.
Huntington built a 13-0 first quarter lead and never trailed in the game. But North Babylon kept the score close and stayed within striking distance throughout the high octane affair.
Jones scored on runs covering 10, 9, 38 and 4 yards. Guzik to Kamestein touchdown passes went for 59 and 37 yards. Robbie Campbell converted two of four extra points as one was blocked and the other was far to the right.
Down 40-27 with little time left in the game, the Bulldogs rallied for a touchdown to cut its deficit to six. North Babylon then successfully pulled off an onside kick, recovering the ball in good field position. The Bulldogs got off two plays before time expired.
Huntington is now 2-0. The Blue Devils will host 0-2 Centereach on Homecoming Day this Saturday at 1 p.m.
