Huntington Highsteppers Back on the Field

September 22, 2025

Huntington High School’s competitive dance team is back on the field. The Highsteppers entertained last Saturday’s halftime crowd at Blue Devil Stadium and fans reacted with cheers for the hip group.

The Highsteppers are one of the hardest working squads at the high school. They spend hours perfecting their moves and their routines are exquisitely timed and choreographed.

The team includes eighth graders Annie Donovan and Rafaella Moss; freshmen Abigail Byers, Amelia Brown and Angelica Cunningham; sophomores Sabrina Bijou and Emma Stensland; juniors Addison Delfino, Chloe Donovan, Xavier Garcia, Jordyn Gross, Kyra Larsen and Ilyana Tauz and senior Kymora Dorvilus.

Kristiana Salerno and Patricia Anson coach the Highsteppers, who practice after school several times a week. The squad will be seen throughout the current week at various Homecoming related events, including the Thursday night bonfire and festival, Friday afternoon pep rally, Saturday morning parade and Saturday afternoon football game, including a halftime performance.

Summer training has allowed the Highsteppers to look especially sharp early in the new school year. The team plans to enter numerous competitions throughout the year.

Some of the dancers have been with the team for several years while others are new. Most have some type of experience dancing. All of them display grace, poise, flexibility and athleticism.

Send a message to Ms. Salerno (ksalerno@hufsd.edu) for more information about the Highsteppers.
