Register Today for the Fall Adult & Continuing Ed Program

The Huntington School District’s adult and continuing education program strives to meet the needs of district residents with a variety of meaningful and interesting courses, workshops and seminars. Online registration is now open and ongoing.

Fall classes begin on Wednesday, October 8. Online registration and payment is available now by logging onto http://bit.ly/4mcQEyP. Once on the page of class listings, you can use filters to narrow the display of courses to specific days of the week. Click on View Details on any class and additional information will be display along with an opportunity to register.

Once registration information has been entered and is complete you can choose to Buy Now or Add to Basket and return to the class offerings page and select one or more additional courses. You have an option of creating a My School Bucks account to checkout or you can just checkout as a guest.

Registration is also available by mail or in the lobby of Huntington High School on Wednesday, September 10 from 6-8 p.m. Courses run for eight week blocks, unless otherwise indicated in the fall bulletin.

Fall semester courses include Basketball for Men, Belly Dance, Ceramics (two separate sections), Crochet, Drawing and Sketching, Financial Workshop, French Travel, Hatha Yoga, Italian for Beginners, Intermediate Italian, Knitting, Microsoft Office Advanced, Pickleball (four separate sections of classes), Photography, Pilates, Coed Soccer (indoor), Small Business Administrative Help, Beginner Spanish, Intermediate/Advanced Spanish, Stretch and Tone with Essentrics, Tai Chi Chi Kung (two separate sections), Watercolor and Zumba Gold.

Seminars/Food for Thought include Understanding the Medicare Landscape. There are also courses offered through Western Suffolk BOCES, including Adult Basic Education (GED) and classes in English as a Second Language.

Regular course fees are set at $20 for those residents aged 60 or over (except for those classes marked limited or no senior district), $60 for other district residents and $70 for those living outside the Huntington School District. Fees can vary based on the specific course and the duration of the class. (One day seminars can run as little as $10 for residents or $15 per couple.)

The adult and continuing education program is self-sustaining. It is conducted primarily for adults in the community, but is open to those as young as 16 years of age wherever space exists, with the exception of basketball and where otherwise indicated.
