H-ton Students Participate in National Hispanic College Fair
October 28, 2025
A delegation of Huntington High School juniors and seniors recently travelled to Molloy University in Rockville Centre for the National Hispanic College Fair.
“The event was for high school students, including juniors and seniors, to meet with representatives from a variety of colleges, universities, and vocational training institutions,” said Dr. Ricky V. Papandrea, Jr., district director of school counseling and testing, K-12. “It provided an opportunity to learn about college options and compare different institutions.”
Huntington High School is all about giving students options. So the trip to Molloy for the fair gave students an opportunity to not only meet with college and university representatives, but to compare the possibilities and their programs and costs.
Admissions representatives were on hand to provide students with immediate verbal feedback on their possible applications. “The National Hispanic College Fairs have been matching students with colleges for over 30 years,” according to an online overview. “The events are designed to help students become aware of their options and compare different institutions.”
Huntington High School counselors prepared students in advance so the teenagers were ready with a list of questions for the colleges. Counselors also helped students decipher the written and spoken information.
The Huntington juniors and seniors came home with plenty of information and ideas along with many possibilities for post-high school education.
