Huntington Blue Devil Band Heads to State Championships

The Huntington Blue Devil marching band is in final preparations for this coming weekend’s New York State Field Band Conference championships in Syracuse. Huntington has high hopes for placing among the top bands in its division.
The Blue Devils fared well last weekend in the final two regular season competitions. Huntington placed second in a field of five at Mineola with a score of 83.5 on Saturday and then placed second out of five bands at Hicksville on Sunday with a score of 84.7.
“I am just incredibly proud of all our staff and students for working so tirelessly hard this season,” band director. “We will continue to inspire and push for the best final product of our 2025 production as we get ready for our championship performance at Syracuse this weekend.”
The band will depart for Syracuse on Saturday morning. The state championship competition will bring together over 50 of the finest high school marching bands in the northeastern United States. The state showcase is the culmination of an eight week season featuring nearly 60 bands in 34 regional competitions throughout the state.
The Blue Devils will compete Sunday afternoon in the Large School 2 Class, beginning at 2:05 p.m. The class also includes Lancaster, Greece, Brentwood, Copiague, Division Avenue, Orchard Park, West Seneca, Kingston, Sachem and Corning-Painted Post.
Cole Lima, Lily Wasoski and Dana Saramago are this year’s drum majors. The band’s student leadership also includes:
