Huntington Flag Football Has Big Goals for 2026

May 28, 2025

The Blue Devil varsity flag football team won its first ever game this spring and now head coach Malcolm Eugene is setting a goal of 10 wins in 2026. No one is about to bet against the football college football great who has developed a four year plan for the program.

Huntington was captained by Kaylee Smalling, Belinda Velasquez and Kymora Dorvilus. Alyssa Adomaties assisted Eugene and JV flag football coaches Antoine Swain and Patrick Reilly also lent a hand on the sidelines.

Huntington claimed its first victory ever in a close game against Sachem North. Now Eugene is taking aim at reaching the playoffs within a year and he intends to devote as much time and energy as is needed to accomplish his goals.

Dorvilus led the Blue Devils in flag pulls and catches. La-Khiasja Casey was tops in rushing yardage and touchdowns. Izabelle Colato was the leader in interceptions. “Kymora is the heart and soul of the team,” Eugene said. “Izabelle is consistent and dependable.”

Freshman Timeyah Hardge was the team’s defensive MVP. “She goes all out and leaves it on the field,” Eugene said.

Nearly everyone returns from a roster heavy with underclassmen. “We will be a playoff contending team,” Eugene said. “These are hardworking girls who are willing to put the work in to get better.”

Dorvilus was named to the All-County team and Casey was tapped as All-League. Junior Andrea Reyes was recognized as All-Academic.

“I’m hoping to continue developing the younger girls in the program and building on what we have established as a culture this year,” Eugene said.
