Huntington’s 18-5 victory over Middle Country (combined Newfield and Centereach squad) gives the Blue Devils an 8-2 record in league games and 10-2 overall mark heading into Tuesday night’s game at Ward Melville.

At Middle Country on Friday night, Huntington opened an early 5-2 lead, which the Blue Devils extended to 10-3 by halftime. Huntington went on to outscore their foes in the second half, 8-2.

Ten different Blue Devils either scored a goal or assisted on one in the game. Timmy McDonald (30 goals; 16 assists) tallied four goals and an assist and Colin Lennon (23g; 18a) notched three goals and two assists.

Huntington’s remarkable depth was on full display. Jack Kamenstein (28g; 19a) scored two goals and added three assists and Tommy Kline (17g; 20a) had a goal and two assists.

Colby Curran (3g) and Tom Smith (7g; 6a) both scored twice in the game. Luca Cuozzo (34g; 6a), Connor Fox (9g; 2a), Patrick Hassett (2g) and Bryan Lynch (1g) also scored goals.

Will Fallon stopped eight shots in goal to give the senior 114 saves this spring. Brennan Ackerman (four saves) and Alvin Luna (one save) came on in relief of Fallon and combined to make five saves.

Huntington head coach Julian Watts and assistant coaches Andrew Gutierrez and Ivano Naccarato are all on the same page and pushing the Blue Devils to achieve their full potential this spring.
