College Board Chooses Danielle Raguzin as AP Reader

June 2, 2025

Huntington High School science teacher Danielle Raguzin has been chosen by the College Board to serve as an Advanced Placement reader. She will score the AP Chemistry exam at the Tampa Downtown Convention Center on June 1-9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Now in her eleventh year of teaching chemistry in Huntington, Ms. Raguzin has been an AP Chemistry teacher since 2018. She is also certified to teach physics. A 2003 Huntington alum, she resides in Northport with her husband and four children. A Master Teacher finalist in 2023 and 2025, she has served as the Science Honor Society faculty advisor. She is the newly appointed Blue Devil varsity girls’ soccer team head coach.

The College Board is paying for a round trip flight for Ms. Raguzin and covering her lodging and three meals a day.

“In 2022, I was selected to be an at-home reader for the AP Chemistry exam,” Ms. Raguzin said. “I found it to be incredibly beneficial to learn how my students could get the most points possible on the exam. While at-home reading was an incredible experience, I am even more excited to be on-site this year to collaborate and meet other AP chemistry teachers like me. I hope that this year I will gain even more expertise that I can bring back to Huntington high school.

There are less than 600 people nationwide selected to be an AP reader for chemistry and less than 400 people are selected to be on-site. “It is an honor and a privilege to be selected and I am grateful that the administration at Huntington is allowing me to take on this venture once again,” Ms. Raguzin said. “I truly believe that an opportunity like this will benefit many future chemistry students.”

Ms. Raguzin her a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Delaware. She obtained a master’s degree in teaching at Drexel University. She was recruited to play soccer at Virginia Tech University before later transferring to Delaware and playing on its women’s soccer team.
