Nina Fascilla & Iverson Menjivar Garner Palacios Family Scholarships

They are dreaming big and why not? Nina Fascilla and Inverson Menjivar Quintanilla are two of the top graduates in Huntington High School’s Class of 2025. The duo has achieved in every possible way and teachers say that both possess the skillset to reach the stars in college.

The teenagers are this year’s recipients of the Palacios Family Scholarship, Ms. Fascilla and Mr. Menjivar both received $1,500 scholarship stipends.

The Palacios Family Scholarship “is available to seniors who have helped the Huntington Station Latinx community prosper and can demonstrate they will be attending an accredited college or university,” according to application materials. “Applicants of this one-time $1,500 scholarship must have achieved an 85 average and completed at least 10 hours of community service.”

Representing the Palacios family at the scholarship presentation was patriarch Xavier Palacios and freshman Violet Palacios. The family also includes matriarch Laura Palacios and daughters Sabrina and Isabella Palcios.

An Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, Ms. Fascilla will be attending American University while Mr. Menjivar will study at the University of Tampa.

“My success throughout high school has been driven by my ability to utilize school resources and communicate openly when I need help,” Ms. Fascilla said. “I’ve also made thoughtful decisions when selecting classes and extracurricular activities that align with my strengths and interests.

Ms. Fascilla’s academic interests span communications, law, economics and government. Mr. Menjivar intends to pursue a degree in marketing.

“The key to my success in high school has been the unwavering support and sacrifices of my parents,” Mr. Menjivar said. “They’ve given me incredible opportunities and have always believed in me. Their dedication shaped my journey. I strive every day to make the most of what they’ve given me. I’m forever grateful for their love and encouragement.”
