Henrriquez & Bonilla Lead Finley Boys’ Soccer-Blue Team
December 11, 2025
Eighth graders Nelson Henrriquez and Cristian Bonilla lead the J. Taylor Finley Middle School “blue” boys’ soccer team this past fall. Huntington High School physical education teacher Alexander Nelson coached the 22 player team.
“Nelson did a phenomenal job holding the back line as center back this season,” Coach Nelson said. “Nelson’s improvement throughout the season was one of the highlights of the year.”
Bonilla excelled at outside left midfielder. “Cristian was a great weapon on the left wing,” Coach Nelson said. “He really came into himself as the season progressed, but as a team we underused him on the wing.”
A 1-1 tie game against powerful Northport was the highlight of the season. “It was a tough season, but we will be back next year,” Coach Nelson said. “We should have a strong bounce back season next fall. Returning seventh graders like Tommy Evernham, KingChase Williams and Diego Bonilla will lead us.”
The roster also included Zachary Ali, Yeral Banegas Molina, Robert Bellino, Marcos Bonilla Yanes, Justin Campos Moreira, Alexander Correal, Ty Criscuola, Jeffrey Gregorio Ramirez, Anderson Gudiel Gregorio, Johanson Guevara Guerrero, Alex Holley, Anthony Lopez, Raul Mayorga Reyes, James Molina Tax, Doyhi Ochoa Zuniga, Jackson Spitaleri and Luis Vigil Campos.
