H-ton Boys’ Soccer Already Prepping for 2026 Season
December 2, 2025
The Huntington High School varsity boys’ soccer team is already working out for next year. The Blue Devils overcame injuries to win 10 games and come within goal in both the regular season and in the playoffs of defeating eventual county champion Northport.
Huntington will be returning most of its starting lineup next fall and longtime head coach John Pagano has a positive mindset concerning the team’s prospects. The Blue Devils compiled a 10-7-1 overall record this past fall. Jason Suarez assisted Pagano.
Robbie Campbell (10 goals; 6 assists) and Jonathan Morales (8g; 6a) were named All-Conference. Justin Soto, Rudis Villatoro and Ezra Oddoye (8g; 4a) were all selected as All-League. Morales, Soto, Villatoro and Manuel Orellana were Huntington’s captains.
Pagano said that season highlights included defeating West Islip in the opening round of the playoffs and dropping a 1-0 decision to Northport on a penalty kick in the quarterfinals.
The goal for 2026 is simple: winning the county championship Pagano said. The Blue Devils will be returning many of their top players, including Campbell, Oddoye and sophomore goalkeeper Edwin Caballero Reyes.
“Robbie will be a force as a senior next year,” Pagano said. “Ezra emerged as a potent offensive threat.” Caballero missed times on the field with injuries and his constant presence will be a key to whether or not Huntington will be able to contend for a title.
Pagano said summer camp and off-season intramurals are among the strategies he will employ in the run-up to next season. Huntington also typically plays in a summer league.
Alumni Field is getting another set of bleachers capable of seating more than 400 fans, bringing overall capacity to over 700. To continue building interest in the program and to better serve fans additional night games are planned.
