Senior Jacob Guzik Under Consideration for All-State

December 1, 2025

After passing his team into the Suffolk Division II semifinals, Jacob Guzik is under consideration for a spot on the All-State football team. The 6’1, 185 lb. Huntington High School senior led the Blue Devils to seven victories this past fall.

“Jacob is a three-year starter who entered the 2025 season with considerable expectations and exceeded every one of them,” Huntington head coach Ronald E. Wilson said. “His growth as a pocket passer has been exceptional. He now displays impressive poise, elite accuracy, and arm strength capable of carving up defenses at all levels. After competing in the Long Island Quarterback Challenge, where he performed among the top quarterbacks present, Jacob returned to our program determined to elevate his game. He did so immediately, opening the season with a commanding performance against defending Division II county champion Half Hollow Hills East.

Guzik led Suffolk Division II in passing as a junior, completing 79-of-126 passes for 1,167 yards and rushing for another 572 yards and 13 touchdowns total. The teenager threw just seven interceptions.

This year, Guzik had an even higher completion rate, finding receivers open on 103-of-136 passes for 1,515 yards and 16 touchdowns. He rushed 48 times for 290 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He cut his interceptions to only five. “These numbers reflect a quarterback who can beat opponents through the air or on the ground,” Wilson said. “He is truly a consummate dual-threat athlete.”

Guzik earned All-Division honors in 2024 and 2025 and was All-County this past season. He has participated on Huntington athletic teams during all three sports seasons. His weighted grade average during the first marking period exceeded 90.

“Beyond individual excellence, Jacob’s leadership proved transformative,” Wilson said. “He led Huntington to its first Big Four Division II Championship in 12 years, a testament not only to his physical ability but to his maturity, composure, and competitive spirit. What statistics cannot fully capture is Jacob’s impact on our team culture. He inspires confidence, demands excellence from himself and his teammates and competes with the poise and toughness found only in the finest quarterbacks. His presence has elevated the overall effectiveness and identity of our offense.”
