Halloween Comes Early at Jack Abrams STEM

October 28, 2022

Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School students sure do know how to have fun. The fourth, fifth and sixth graders celebrated Halloween a few days early.

The Jack Abrams STEM PTA hosted a “trunk or treat” Halloween related event on Thursday night. “Twenty-five families coordinated spooky trunks complete with music, games, activities and, of course, candy for the entire STEM student population,” Principal Donna Moro said. “Students were all smiles as they showed off their Halloween costumes and collected their treats.”

Trunks were lined from one end of the STEM parking lot to the other. “Along the route, students could make a stop at the photo booth to snap a few photos to capture fun memories,” Ms. Moro said. “It was a great way to kick off Halloween festivities.”

Organizers were “incredibly excited” about Jack Abrams STEM’s first-ever school-wide trunk or treat event. “Last year, we only offered the event to our fourth graders, but since it was a huge success, we decided to extend it to everyone,” Ms. Moro said. “With that addition, it did make our crowds a bit bigger.”

Each of the three grades was allotted a 30 minute time slot. Students were accompanied by at least one adult and followed a trunk or treat path through the parking field.

Participants wore costumes that were colorful, cute and humorous and sometimes downright ingenious. Students moved along the parking lot maze with ease.

Everyone seemed to head for home happy.
