The Huntington High School boys’ basketball program is entering a new era with first year varsity head coach Peter Lipka, veteran varsity assistant coach Kevin Thorbourne and new JV head coach Jake Torres taking the reins of the Blue Devils. Try-outs begin Monday, November 14 at 6 p.m. in the high school gym.
All Huntington High School boys are invited to try-out for the varsity and junior varsity teams. Tryouts will be held daily from 6-8 p.m. for at least three days or until the team is selected. Once rosters are finalized, practices will be held Monday through Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at a time to be determined.
Any player in need of a physical exam should report to the nurse’s office as soon as possible and make an appointment to be screened by the school district medical doctor on Wednesday, November 9 at the high school.
Students trying out on November 14 should come prepared to play with shorts, t-shirt and sneakers. Every prospective player needs to submit a parent permission form.
