The Huntington High School boy's lacrosse team topped Miller Place on the road, 7-4. The Blue Devils led at halftime, 4-2. The teams then battled through a scoreless third quarter before Huntington secured its victory with three goals in the final frame.
Pat Reilly had three goals and an assist to lead the Blue Devils. Billy Martin had a pair of goals. Christian Fiordelisi had a goal and an assist. Ben Kocis added a goal and Chris Schoen had an assist. TJ Greenhill recorded a dozen saves in goal.
ESM Deals Tough Loss
Eastport-South Manor built an insurmountable 9-2 first half lead and easily moved past the Huntington girls' lacrosse team, 14-3. Playing at home, the one-sided nature of the game surprised the Blue Devils.
Katie Reilly, Alexis Thompson and Emma DeGennaro scored for Huntington. Hannah Burnett and Alyssa Amorison had assists. Blue Devil goalies Taylor Moreno (four saves), Anna Tesoriero (three saves) and Fiona Geier (one save) combined to stop eight shots.
Christian Fiordelisi Powers HHS
The Huntington boys' lacrosse team was methodical while scoring goal-after-goal in the first half against visiting Center Moriches. By halftime, the Blue Devils held a 9-1 advantage en route to a 13-2 victory.
Christian Fiordelisi had two goals and two assists. Chris Schoen had a goal and two assists. Matt Whitcher, Spencer Young, John Mallouk, Kyle O'Bryan, Thomas Plant, Ryan Casale, Ben Kocis and Billy Martin scored one goal each, respectively. John Vanderschuyt and Pat Reilly each had one goal and one assist. Jeremy Gelb had two assists and Josh Long had one assist.
Huntington goalies Dom Tesoriero, TJ Greenhill John Russo and Nick Stern combined for six saves.
Coneys to the Rescue
With the Huntington girls' softball team nursing a one run lead, Beth Coneys smacked a two-run single in the sixth inning to give the Blue Devils their final margin of victory at 3-0. Two innings earlier, Kaitlin Wascher raced to catch a fly ball to save two runs from scoring in the fourth inning. Ellyn Byrnes pitched a complete game victory, fanning nine and scattering three hits.
Trousdell Launches Walk-off HR
It was a long game with a happy ending for Huntington as Marygrace Trousdell hit a walk-off two-run homerun in the bottom of ninth to give the Blue Devil softball team a 7-5 victory over visiting Mt. Sinai. Trousdell's homer cleared the centerfield fence. The Mustangs took a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth. Huntington's Tar Byrnes' drove in Emily Kata on a groundout to tie the game at 5-5 before Trousdell's heroics. Kaitlin Wascher and Megan Boyce picked up two hits apiece. Ellyn Byrnes was the winning pitcher.

Ellyn Byrnes was efficient and effective on the hill for Huntington, striking out 12 batters and yielding six hits over seven innings as the Blue Devil softball team edged John H. Glenn, 9-4.
Huntington took a 1-0 first inning lead before Ryan Bonitz drove in two run with the first of her three hits to make it 3-0.
Burnett & Thompson – Again
Hannah Burnett had seven goals and three assists and Alexis Thompson had four goals and four assists to pace the Huntington girls' lacrosse team in a wild offensive shootout at Miller Place. The Blue Devils led 11-5 at halftime and then hung-on for a 20-16 victory. The second half saw the teams score a combined 20 goals.
Katie Reilly and Sarah Fernandez each had three goals and one assist, respectively. Alyssa Amorison scored a goal and had five assists. Emma DeGennaro scored a goal and added an assist. Katia DeSimone scored a goal.
Anna Tesoriero made 10 saves in the goal for Huntington.
Huntington Improves to 8-2
The Huntington boys' lacrosse team improved to 8-2 in Suffolk Division II play (9-3 overall) with a 12-4 victory at Babylon.
Christian Fiordelisi picked up four goals and an assist and Patrick Reilly had two goals and two assists against Babylon. Huntington led 8-2 at halftime. Connor Birchard has two goals and an assist. Ben Kocis contributed a goal and an assist. Chris Schoen had a goal and three assists. Matt Whitcher and Billy Martin also scored in the game. TJ Greenhill stopped 13 shots in the net for Huntington. Dom Tesoriero came on in relief and recorded one save.
The Blue Devils' only losses this spring came at the hands of Shoreham-Wading River (11-5), Comsewogue (12-3) and Cold Spring Harbor (4-3 in four overtimes).
