Blue Devil Alum Wins College Lax Honors
Christian Jamison, a member of Huntington High School’s Class of 2014 was named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference All-Defensive First Team for his sensational play on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology lacrosse team.
This marks Jamison’s second All-Conference selection and his first appearance on the defensive first team. The Huntington alum started all 17 MIT games, scooping up 46 ground balls, which ranked him No. 12 in the conference. He also caused 18 turnovers.
The 6’3, 200 lb. Jamison helped MIT compile a 12-5 record, which ties the program’s record for wins in a single season. The Huntington grad is majoring in electrical engineering and computer science. He has conducted research with the Quantum Nanostructures and Nanofabrication Group.
In addition to playing with the MIT lacrosse team, Jamison is also a member of the college’s football team. In seven games last fall he caught seven passes for 50 yards at wide receiver.
At Huntington, Jamison earned All-County honors in both football and lacrosse and captained both teams. He captured the 2013 LaBue Scholar Athlete Award recognizing him as Suffolk’s top academic football player. He was also named the National Football Foundation’s top scholar athlete for Suffolk.
A member of six different academic honor societies at Huntington High School, Jamison was a National AP Scholar and a National Merit Scholarship commended student. He won the Suffolk Zone Award, Congressional Merit Award, John Fulton Memorial Award and Town of Huntington Scholar Athlete Award. He even found time to volunteer as a Special Olympics golf coach.
A high school lacrosse Academic All-American, Jamison won the Don Loughlin Founder’s Award as a senior. The award is named for and presented by the founder of the Huntington High School men’s lacrosse program.
