Huntington Grad to Appear on Project Runway, Jr.
Huntington High School Class of 2009 member Kerrie Greene and her fellow Knicks City Dancers will appear on Project Runway, Jr. on Thursday, January 7 at 9 p.m. on Lifetime television network.
Ms. Greene is a four year veteran of the Knicks City Dancers and one of the team’s co-captains. The Huntington alum has studied dance since a young age. She continued her growth as a member of the St. John’s University dance team.
A featured model in a number of dance catalogues and magazines, including Dance Distributors, FINA and Dance Spirit, Ms. Greene also appeared as a featured dancer in last summer’s blockbuster movie, Trainwreck, which starred Amy Schumer.
When she isn’t working, one of Ms. Greene’s favorite activities is spending time at the beach.
During high school, Ms. Greene was a member of the Huntington Highsteppers competitive dance team that won many awards. In 2008 during her junior year the Highsteppers captured first place in kickline, second in pom and third in team performance and earned the Choreography Award at the National Dance Alliance’s U.S. Championships at the Manhattan Center-Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
Ms. Greene captained the Highsteppers as a senior in 2009. At that year’s National Dance Alliance championships at Hunter College in Manhattan, which featured teams from several different countries, Huntington again turned in an impressive showing, winning first place in pom and team performance and finishing second in kickline.
