HHS 2011 Alum Brian Pechar Pens
New Book

Brian Pechar’s love for writing and interesting experiences has resulted in the 2011 Huntington High School alum publishing a new book. Where Am I Going?” is now on sale.

Mr. Pechar is currently in his final semester at Suffolk Community College. He’s interested in pursuing an internship and moving on to study for a bachelor’s degree. The Huntington grad’s first book, A Day in the Life was so well received he decided to pen another volume.

The new book was released on October 17 on Amazon.com. It is listed at $8.99. Information about the book can be found at this Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Where-Am-Going-Brian-Pechar/dp/1502858061/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1414011794&sr=1-1.

“With the great reception and feedback from my first book, I was determined to do a second one,” Mr. Pechar said. “The book is only sold as a paperback version like my first book because any modified rendition of it shown on a tablet or Kindle takes away from the precious value of picking up a book and reading it.”

Mr. Pechar said his new book “falls into the same category and description” of his first one, which consisted of short, positive and uplifting stories revolving around his encounters with celebrities and interesting interactions that he either participated in or witnessed.

“This book has 24 stories, which stems from a concept of a story happening one hour a day, which equals 24 stories,” said Mr. Pechar about Where Am I Going? “This book features some interesting interactions with all different kinds of interesting people whom you will encounter on the streets of Huntington and all the way to New York City.  It also reflects on interesting tales revolving around the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato whom were previously used in stories in my first book.  They just make the pages sizzle while being enjoyable to read. I always have great times and encounters with them so it’s a no-brainer to put them in my new book.”

The Huntington alum’s new book includes interactions with people such as James Franco, whose who in the fields of acting and literature has had “such an inspiring and lasting impact on me to start writing,” Mr. Pechar said.

“Aside from Franco, Daniel Radcliffe, Ansel Elgort, former Yankee and Hall of Famer Dave Winfield and Miles Teller are all featured in this book,” Mr. Pechar said. “Radcliffe had purchased my first book and told me that he and his girlfriend had gone through it several times while enjoying reading it. This was mind-blowing that the Harry Potter star himself read my book and embraced it with his girlfriend. Then Elgort, who is best-known for his breakout performance in ‘The Fault in Our Stars,’ was beyond speechless and honored that I included him in this book. He demanded that I sign it as soon as he got a copy. This was very special for me.”

Mr. Pechar said he is already “transitioning” into a third book from all of his experiences. “It will also be 24 stories and will be released sometime in 2015,” he said. A novel is also in the beginning stages.

“With this book and its title, it’s only a question as to where I will be heading or [what I will be] doing next as I am always active, busy and ready to create more stories,” Mr. Pechar said.

Mr. Pechar attended classes in the Huntington School District from kindergarten through to graduation. He engaged in an internship with teachers Anthony Troffa and Suzie Biagi as a senior, working with the classes of both faculty members.

“Brian is a great kid,” Mr. Troffa said. “He was always enthusiastic as a student during his junior year in US History and then he really took a leadership role when he interned for me the following year. He was very helpful and patient with everyone he worked with. I see that he has been traveling and meeting many famous people. They should feel lucky to meet him.”
