Marybeth Robinette Embraces 
    New Position  
   Marybeth Robinette always tackles her job responsibilities with enthusiasm and dedication. The longtime Huntington School District faculty member recently assumed a new position and she’s displaying the same commitment to the tasks at hand as she always has for the past 24 years.
Marybeth Robinette always tackles her job responsibilities with enthusiasm and dedication. The longtime Huntington School District faculty member recently assumed a new position and she’s displaying the same commitment to the tasks at hand as she always has for the past 24 years. 
Ms. Robinette will oversee the district’s elementary grade level math program, including supervision of K-6 math instruction, state and local assessment processes and district-wide instructional technology. She will also maintain her responsibilities as the district’s chief information officer.
Prior to being appointed to her new post earlier this summer, Ms. Robinette was the district director of mathematics, K-12 along with serving as Huntington’s data coordinator and CIO.
In her new position, Ms. Robinette will work closely with Superintendent James W. Polansky and others to coordinate state and federal reporting related to student achievement and testing, special education, Basic Educational Data System requirements personnel, health services, grants and more. She will serve as a liaison with the state regarding district data submissions to various repositories.
Ms. Robinette will also be working with district principals, directors and staff members to collect, analyze and interpret data and instructional planning reports and plan/guide associated professional development.
A member of the district’s faculty since 1990, Ms. Robinette has worked as a special education and math teacher. She earned an undergraduate degree in sociology with special education certification in 1978 at the University of Hartford and a master’s degree in computer science in 1985 at Union College. She obtained a certificate of advanced study in educational leadership along with state administrative certification at SUNY Stony Brook in 2009.
Prior to coming to Huntington, Ms. Robinette worked for Unisys Corp. and Harris Corp. as a software engineer (1985-1990), as a math teacher in the Wappinger Falls School District (1983-84), as a special education teacher in the Poughkeepsie School District (1981-83) and at the Astor Home for Children-Rhinebeck Country School.
Over the years Ms. Robinette has been a member of numerous district committees, including the educational development committee, academic intervention services planning committee and technology committee. She has also been a member of the Response to Intervention development team, Tiers of intensive and educationally responsive services team and high school data team.
